Hi Kansaskim 1/19/08 posting
I've been taking Lipitor for about 8 years now and was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia about 7 yrs. ago. I go to a neurologist for the Fibro and every tender point he touches I'm in angony. Lately I developed calf cramps and a different kind of ache in my whole body which after reading all the postings I think is from Lipitor. All my bones and muscles hurt all over and I'm losing muscle strength. I can't lift myself up from the floor without crawling to a chair after playing with my grandchildren, I just don't have the strength. I can just sense something is wrong. I'm going to stop taking the Lipitor today and see what happens.
After reading all the postings I'm wondering if all this discomfort all these years is from the Lipitor and not Fibro. I was told I had chronic fatigue from the Fibro but postings are saying that they are drained and tired.
I was just on the phone with my daughter trying to figure out when I was diagnosed with Fibro and when I started taking Lipitor, and it seems like too much of a coincidence that I started with Fibro right after I started taking Lipitor. Imagine if I suffered all these years for nothing, when I mentioned the side effect of Lipitor to my doctor he didn't want to hear it, he said my blood tests are fine. Is everyone else's blood test normal and still having symptoms? Thank you.
