I would def. take both of them off adderall and try strataira (however you spell it) because its not so addicting like adderall and doesnt get you so wound up and your children will be able to go to sleep alot better.
Thank you for your reply. Its been a while now Both boy's seem to be doing well now sleeping nigths are much better. the crying and melt downs have subsided I think now as I look back my 9yrold had just come home from being in the hospital for 3month due to a severe brain injury. Our whole family was totally affected by this I changed our whole life in an instant. Its been five months he has been home now I see alot more normalcy I just boosted my 9yr old up to 20 mlg one thing I am concerned about is your body getts immuned so quick what is the normal dose and what is the max dose.My six yr old too I may have to boost him up too Thank you again
I personally think that 6 yrs old is too young to be taking adhd meds. My son is 11 yrs old and takes adderall xr 20mg.They tried to have my son diagnosed at about 6 or 7 years old, but i waited until he was 9 and he is doing wonderfully in school. Have you tried behavior modification with your son at all? I hope that everything is working out for you all.
Well Its been a while since I posted. My son turned 7 in march things are much better... My son who is 9 who sustained the brain injury is now taking 20 mlg my 7 yr old is still on 10mlg possible to be bumped up to 15 He is doing great in school and very well at home. I think the problem was more so of everything that happend to my 9 yr old in the accident. my whole family went thru a very difficult time. I think that had a lot to due with my 7 yr old behavior. In march I also had my 7 yr old test by a neuro phycologist that went very well he tested age appropriate on all things but his reading the phycologist diagnosed him with dyslexia I was not suprised. The school and myself are working wth him thru that. The not so good thing about adderall is both boy's loose their appetite other then that things are back to almost naormal.
