I started Prednisone 2 weeks ago and gradually started having leg cramps. They have gotten worse over the last couple of days. They are in my ankles and feet and I have to get up several times a night just to sit until they relax. We plan to decrease the dosage in two weeks, but this is most annoying. Of course, it's far better than what I was experiencing with pain and sleepless nights and had gotten so I could barely move. My hands were swollen and tight, my arms ached with every move and movements were very limited. My bones in my feet felt (and sounded) as though they were shifting around when I got up to walk. My knees were weak. I was just diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica. I feel 70-80% improved. Just wondered if anyone else has had these symptoms on Prednisone. It didn't do this with the dosepaks.

I don't know what to do i feel like i have polio. it comes and goes. anything new with u? Has this subsided? Right now my left arm is numb. can't lie down either, makes it all worse. Are we going to be ok? i still have 3 days worth of pills left (2/day) 10 mgs each. started with 60mg a day for 4 days, then 40 mg a day for 4 days, now started 20 mgs a day today for last four days of HELL. that is when this severe stuff started.. Until today the symptoms were really bad but nothing like this numbness crippling bone pain effect. Please reply if you can. I want to know how you are feeling. I think we should put something on the NEWS about this drug. People are really having a TERRIBLE and SCARY time with this stuff. These doctors shouldn't be allowed to do this to us without warning. There should be a law when dispensing this stuff that we are to be informed by the doctor who gives it to us about what it does and what it can do to you long term. Ridiculous. And we live in America. Imagine that. They will kill us and not bat an eye. Look at what happened to Heath Ledger.

My 15 year old daughter started on Predisone 2 days ago and she has severe leg cramping all of a sudden! We have had to do this drug in the past for bad asthma episodes but this leg cramping is new and it hurts really bad. I don't plan on keeping her on the drug any longer!

ive been prescribed prednisone 3 different times in the past 3 years for bad asthma attacks stemming from contact with a substance at my job that wa used to make package slides slippery, a graphite silicon powder. Ended up in hospital 1st and 2nd time home cured 3 rd time. Everytime i started coming off it my knees, ankles, and elbows would be in such pain that i needed percoset for a couple of days. Worst pain ive ever experienced in my life. also now have arthriris from all the steroids i had to have surgery for avascular necrosis in rt hip. prob will have it replaced in 5 years.all due to the iv steroids in the hospital and the prednisone when i got home...
