You are not alone. My husband started on both lupron and casodex almost a year ago. The only good thing is that his PSA is less than 1. His behavior is as you described. I too am sad, unhappy, sometimes angry. I had surgery on my knee and three days later he fell down steps. He did have Xrays taken but was annoyed. He then had to have more done because there was something in the hip they couldn't see well. He did go back but was angry and implied that I was over reacting. Everything is my fault. I read several books by couples in the support group US Too. He said that he read them but no other comment, no attempt to make life better. Like you he is driving me crazy with his various strange behaviors, is very defensive. He says he has no desire for any kind of physical relationship, unlike the others in the support group who had surgery. I feel like I am imposing on him when looking for affection. Your use of the word roommate is appropriate, any family member would be affectionate. I don't understand this. From what I read the desire should be decreased but still there. I feel like I am actually repulsive to him. He insists that he is not moody, depressed, or has any brain chemistry change. I am very grateful for my children who see the same behaviors I do, otherwise I would really think that I am crazy.
Don't feel guilty, this is very different than having a spouse with any other kind of cancer treatment.
when my husband had cancer his mood got really bad. the doctor gave him paqtches called ABHR( ativan, benadryl, haldol and reglan. what a miracle it did for him.
