My thoughts are to stay away from the lisinopril - the risks aren't worth it. One of the problems is that the side effects from lisinopril can build so slowly you just won't suspect it. In my personal experiences, it wreaks major havoc with your mineral balances and reserves, not to mention poisining you slowly. Besides it looks like your doctor is just guessing anyway.
You should watch out for the levaquin too. I've taken it several times sucessfully, for diverticulitis, using a 3 day course. But the last time, my new doctor prescribed a 10 day course. I quit after 7 days, with lots of joint pains and some numbness in hands and feet. It took months to clear up, and I felt siginificantly weakend for a long time after. It did a great job on the diverticulitis, though. However, I have since found that for me a garlic capsule taken 3 times a day for about 4-7 days also clears up the diverticulitis and much more naturally.
They say that you have a lifetime max of levaquin that you can take and when you reach it you'll start having major side effects. Check out levaquin on this forum.
My suggestion is stop the drug if you don't need it and seek some natural and healthy alternatives. This drug causes side effects as you can see by this website. I am experiencing some of the same side effects as others that wrote about their concerns. I am stopping the drug today. My blood pressure is borderline, so I am not going to risk it.

I went to the doctor for an ear infection, and she told me I had high blood pressure so i'm a moron I let her put me on lisinopril 10 mg ,at first I had a hacking cough but I could deal with that ,then I got very tired ,ok another one I could deal with.My doctor never told me about how many side effects there are with this medicine,I started taking this in may of 2008 and by december 2008 I was a complete wreck,I had heart palpitations (that still not have gone away)I was so weak I could not get up to go to work !I have never really been sick before so I could not have told this was because of the drug I thought I was stressed out because of the holidays.I went back to the quack and told her of my heart palpitations and dizziness and weakness ,she said well you are overweight so you need to lose more weight ,I said culd it be from the lisinopril and then she said oh your on lisinopril well who gave you that,I was done then I said you did and she oh well I will give you amlodipine 2.5 mg ,so I went home and tried that, same thing so I looked at the side effects of course the same thing heart palpitations and dizziness,so I stopped taking them ,went back to the doc. on monday told her I was still having chest pains ,so she gave me an e k g and said it looks good then she took me off the meds and now i'm going to see a cardiologist on thursday .I can't deal with this anymore I am 35 years old and ok i'm overweight bt I have lost 40 pounds since learning I have high blood pressure should'nt I feel better instead of worse?
