hi all reading this, I have had a Mirena for 3 years now, within my first 6 month checkup for this device I was still getting continued pelvic pain which the specialist stated just needed to allow my body time to get use to the device. This still continues up until now. I sometimes can almost feel the device, which sounds weird, but for example if I have a severe cold and cough, with the flu, when I cough i can feel it move or change somehow and its unpleasant and uncomfortable. I am also back to experiencing all the same symptoms that occurred when I first went to the specialist, along with loads of new ones such as severe headaches, mood swings, some bowel issues, nausea, etc. I'm sure others have also had these. Anyway now I am waiting to see a specialist, Ive been waiting for months as my appointment keeps getting changed to defer it. I also went to a private specialist about 8 months ago, asked him to remove it, he refused saying that I would be back to where I was in terms of symptoms before I had the device inserted. The use of this device it now seems to me is questionable for some women, and for some conditions. It seems an alternative that is being prescribed for large numbers of women now, as I have some work colleagues who also have the device. But it has to make you wonder just how successful this type of alternative is proving to be
