I have taken Allegra-D for a year now and have noticed extreme mood changes. I have even lost motivation for daily duties. I seem more careless and lack energy. I find myself crying for no real reason at all. I too have felt the itchiness of skin, if I fail to refill my prescription in a weeks period.

Please consult your doctor on this since you have been taking this for a long time. Most serious side effects include sleeplessness & terrifying dreams. Do you have any of these side effects? look http://www.internationaldrugmart.com/allegra-d.html if you have any of the side effects mentioned here, if so consult your physician with out fail.

Allegra and most types of Claritin have "lactose" added as an inactive ingredient and a lot of people are lactose intolerant. Your nose may not be congested but you are probably having even more allergic reactions to the lactose. You may want to try Claritin "RediTabs" instead. That was the only allergy medication I found with no lactose listed on the ingredients. I haven't done all my research on every form of available Allegra (kids suspension for example)
Good luck
