I was on Lipitor 6 yrs. ago for approximately 6 months. The pain and weakness in my arms and shoulders was unbearable. Deep pain that felt like it went right to the bone. On occasion since then I seem to have flair ups. This past week I have been in pain. The strength in my arms is diminished. Has anyone else had this experience?

I have been on Lipitor for approximately four years, about the time I fell and dislocated my right shoulder. My should with therapy healed after 2+ years but left me with numbness in my left hand fingers which I though was from over use during my recovery. I also, since my injury, have been suffering from shoulder pain on either side when I sleep. I cannot not tollerate being on my side for more than an hour and toss and turn.. My husband says I toss from one side to the other all night long. I thought this was all because of my should injury. Now I am reading that shoulder pain could be a side effect? I hate to sound dramatic, but please tell me it isn't so. My cholestoral is where it should be and I do watch my fat intake and certain foods high in cholestoral. I wanted to try getting off Lipitor, but my doctor was very much against it because it was working and I didn't seem to have any side effects and my liver scans every six month were good. My doctor knows I suffer from the shoulder pain in both shoulder and have trouble sleeping. Now I will have do do further research and call him on my shoulder pain.

I had tripple by-pass surgery December 22, 2005 and was placed on 80 mg of Lipitor subsequently. Since then I have had severe pain in my knees, back, shoulders, elbows and wrists as well as in all the muscles throughout my body. I have had periods of having to search for words when I am speaking, (I know what I want to say but I can't speak the words) , I have had surgery on my left knee and suspect it was not necessary but at the time I didn't know what was causing my problems. I asked my cardiologist if Lipitor could be the cause and he took me off if it right away. I quit taking it a month and a half ago and am still experiencing the same pain. I was told that because I was taking the maximum dosage it might be several months before the pain goes away. Lipitor is bad news and probably should be taken off the market

Hi - I have been on Lipitor for about 3 years. I too have pain in my shoulders and deep pain in my right arm. A very sharp pain. I am wondering now if it is my Lipitor. I will check with the Doc. Thanks for posting your problem.

Also, my daughter just started Lipitor and she has been having anxiety attacks. Has anyone had this problem with Lipitor. It is not the type of anxiety attacks I used to have. It is a scared feeling deep in the pit of her stomach and she can't settle down.

Thanks

J. Waites
