Nothing really to do but wait till it gets out of your system really. Some people take MSM and other things to get rid of it quicker. Drink plenty of liquids and hopefully it will ease it"s way out of you. It took me months to get back to normal so hang inthere!Marsh
I would be careful of taking Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory meds as I have found a report in my research that suggested it will make the condition worse as it interacts with the Levaquin still in your system. Unfortunately for me, I found that out too late. It is now two years later and I am still in daily pain. All joints and tendons are effected. Fish oil supplements help joint health and I have also heard that some people took magnesium supplements to help get it out of their systems. Be especially careful when exercising (if you are capable), take it very slow and easy! Take care!
My only recommendation is time. Also, take the warnings seriously and DO NOT do anything that might rupture a tendon. It has been 14 months and my biceps still hurt so bad at times that I want to cry! All that after one of them spontaneously ruptured and was surgically repaired. I had the "privilege" of being fed corticosteroids with my Levaquin and then non-steroidal anti-inflammatory meds by the ER when I showed up there (both are a problem). Be careful, remain positive, an give it time (lots of time).
This registry is a place to share positive or negative side effects of using Levaquin. If you directly experienced a side effect while using Levaquin, then we encourage you to enter it here. Please note that entries here are the experiences of individual users, and in no way means that you or anyone else will experience the same side effect, since the same medication affects people in different ways. Please always contact your physician.
