I started the pill when i was 14, trying to control my cramps and acne. I have now been on the pill for 4 years. I constantly felt depressed and "blocked" in everything in my life. I gained over 40 pounds in my adolescence and never knew why. I'm taking control of my life now and have lost about 20. I went off the pill about a month ago and I can say with all of my being it was the best move i ever made.
Then the acne came. i was devastated. i went back on and feel blocked again. my weight loss has come to a fault and my cravings are out of control. i am going back off of the pill again immediately. however, i don't want my acne to come back. does anyone know of a great way to control it? creams don't really work for me so i'm not sure what to try. mabye an herbal remedy? any suggestions??
What pill? Some are different than others. The one that has both female and male hormones are worse, they cause acne. Ask your doctor to change the medications.
hiya,you could try vitex,also know as agnus castus.it is great for helping with hormonal imbalances,i swear by it. i also suffered from premenstrual acne and found that the agnus castus stopped it after about 3-4 months.it is not a fast acting herb and you should give it a trial of at least 3 months to get it into your system.it is usually recommended that you take it for 6 months then come off to see if your hormones are now balanced,if your symptoms return go back on it.there is no evidence that it is harmfull when used in the longterm.i used it consistently for 10 months with no ill effects at all,have had a break and may well go back on if my spots and cramps return.
