I am trying to get off of psychiatric medication as well. I have somewhat similar symptoms. I was at one point on 25mg Zyprexa and a shot of haldol. Now I'm on 2.5mg zyprexa and 180mg Geodon. All psychiatric medication should be tapered off slowly to avoid withdrawal effects. Every time my doctor lowers my antipsychotic medication there is some anxiety. I also experience shaking and I used to have insomnia. There is a website which details a way to get off psychiatric medication. It's theroadback.org. They mention supplements which can help alleviated some of the symptoms. Unfortunately, the supplements seem to be geared toward antidepressant withdrawal symptoms. I have spent a lengthy period, in the past, off of all medication. It's possible for others to do so too. I know in time I will be off medication again. For me, medication treats the symptoms not the problems. By working on the problems that I believe led to my condition I know I can avert the symptoms and not need medication. My advice to you is to work with your doctor if you want to be medication free. Don't relinquish quality of life for the absence of medication but know there is always an adjustment period whenever there is a medication change. Sometimes you just have to "ride out the storm" so to speak till your body acclimates to life substance free. Eating healthy and meditation can help as well. Good luck with your journey!
