You might consider increasing your selenium intake. My knees were getting worse and worse after taking (and quitting) this drug, but when I finally found selenium - to help with the shortness of breath - my knees got better too.
If you want to go natural, eat lots and lots of broccoli, also garlic, anything else with selenium.
Otherwise you can try a supplement, which may help but may also make you tired until you find the right dosage, which will probably decrease quickly over a few weeks.
There are a few other minerals you might also consider: zinc is generally helpful for lisinopril problems; also, small amounts of silica can be helpful for the joints, as well as msm/sulphur.
Oh, and avoid the lisinopril!
Best of luck to all!
OMG - I have been having horrible joint pain and was diagnosed with "general/unexplained joint pain" - duh! I finally suspected the lisinopril and stopped taking it. Dr. told me that joint pain was not a side effect of the lisinopril. Was off 1 day and all joint pain went away. Unfortunately I've blown up like a balloon. I'm hoping that it's just withdrawl and I'll eventually get rid of the edema.
Wow you sound like me. I went on this sight because a friend of mine was on this medicine, and she got really sick. So i decided to look into it and your's sounds just like what I feel. I can't believe this medicine is still on the market. I've been on for almost 21/2 years and for a while it was fine, then about 7 months ago I started feeling what you are feeling. I go for a B/P check on friday, I want to be switched.
