I was taking Ortho-Tricyclen low for a year and everything was fine. I had no side effects. Recently I told my doctor that I feel my hormones have gone down drastically and I haven't been in the romantic mood with my BF. I figured my daily routines may have changed something in my body. So she gave me 3 packs of Microgestin FE 1.5/30 and told me that would boost up my hormones A LOT. So far, after finishing the last pack, nothing. I mean NOTHING. All of a sudden I got the common cold perhaps the flu and now receiving lower back pain. The first night it was on the right only and now its only on the left side. Could this be a side effect to the pill???

I know you wrote this a while ago, but i've been taking Microgestin for quite a while and before that I've been on the pill for years (a few different brands) However, since being on this brand, my sex drive is basically gone. I never had a particular high sex drive, but I was able to get in the mood eventually. I usually chalked it up to being young since everyone tells me sex is better near 30. I'm 27 and it's lower than ever. Do you feel the same???

Hopefully you will check this again soon.

I just started on the same bcp recently: I'm on my third month of it. I have been having heart flutterings that almost feel like an anxiety attack on this particular pill. Did you experience this? I'm curious as to whether or not this could be bcp-related since I wasn't having them prior to taking these.

I am having the opposite effect. I started microgestin earlier this month, and my sex drive has been absolutely out of control. My husband has no complaints, but I do NOT feel like myself- my body feels so out of control, and I feel horny all day long. My husband works out of town every other week, so i spend 8 days by myself at home with no sexual outlet that is truly satisfying. When I was on Yaz, my sex drive was normal, even low at times, and I only got my period every 4 months or so. My dr switched me to microgestin because i needed the higher hormone dose, and I feel like a different person. Does this mean I should switch to a lower dosage of hormones?
