I have been on Aviane for about two years. When I was 18 I was first prescribed Seasonale, but it gave me terrible breakthrough bleeding and massive headaches. My doctor switched me to Aviane and I did completely fine for one year. I gained some weight (about 15 pounds). I switched to the NuvaRing because I wanted a BC that was easier to maintain, not because I was unhappy with Aviane. I completely loss my ENTIRE sex drive on the NuvaRing and briefly switched to the patch which was also terrible. I am back on Aviane now, and have been for five months. My sex drive has come back, though usually only when I am on my period and taking the inactive pills. My periods come about four-five days after I stop the active pills and last for about five days. They are not overly heavy, probably normal. I considered switching to Yaz or Loestrin24 when I see my doctor tomorrow, but after reading everything on here, I think I will stick with Aviane. I highly recommend it to anyone because I have had the least side effects than any other BC out there and I have been on many. I am 21 now and have been on BC since I was 18.
