I was initially very excited to start the NuvaRing. I had been on BC for about two years before and wanted something that was a little easy to take care of, and since you only have to change it once a month, I thought the NuvaRing was for me. I was probably on the Ring for about seven months. I enjoyed the ease of care, but I completely loss my entire sex drive! This was extremely detrimental to my long term relationship with my partner. Luckily, he understood it was not him but the BC, but it still caused a strain on our entire relationship. It was sometimes difficult to insert the Ring, sometimes taking about 10 minutes. The ring also fell out once while I was removing a tampon. I did not notice and had unprotected sex with my partner. Once I noticed, I took Plan B and everything was okay.
