I am 52 years old and switched to Singulair last Fall for severe allergies. I have taken all others on the market and have exhausted the list. Since starting Singulair I have had chronic ear infections, the first since I was 11 years old. Have also had a mild cardiac arrhythmia accelerate to a severe state, for no apparent reason, and cannot get under control with the usually curative medications. All cardiac testing proves negative, other than crazy ECG's showing nearly every beat to be premature and weak. Has anyone heard of this side effect?

Thank you so much for this posting. My daughter has been on singulair for almost 9 years. We have experienced severe mood swings and this past year had her on a life-flight to a childrens hospital in Salt Lake because her heart was beating at 180 beats per minute and they could not get it slowed down. For seven months she has suffered with her heart constantly speeding up the last time up to 205 beats per minute. I have asked over and over again if her asthma medications could be causing this and have been told no. I have had a feeling since this happened that it was her medications causing the problem. She had a heart procedure done in January but informed me yesterday that the same thing is starting to happen again. Can you please tell me what you have experienced. My email is dabraanderson@hotmail.com. Again, thank you so much.
