About a month ago my son was put on advair hfa 115/ 21 and at night he would have tremors all over his body so badly I would have to hold him to get him to calm down and he was edgy and irritable and nervous and had insomnia most nights and his heart after bout 30 minutes of taking the advair was racing a mile a minute that he could not slow down even if he wanted to . He was in the emergency room four times that month cause of asthma attacks where he could not hardly breathe. I was really worried and then I decided to read the medication guide that comes with the Advair and you would be shocked at what is there to warn is of the possible side effects of the advair. One of the side effects listed is irreversible lung and hear damage and vomitting and tremors and heart racing or tachy cardia and lastly it lists death as a result of the Salmeterol that is in the Advair. I was really scared and frightened and scared for my son to take this medication prescribed for my son as he has mild to severe asthma but he is only 4 years old and I was thinking , " How can I give my son this medication when the worst side effect is death?" The very next morning after reading the entire medication guide that comes with the Advair I talked on the phone with my sons asthma and allergy doctor for about forty minutes while he tried to convinced me what I read in the medication guide was not true and he told me the studies in the medication guide were horribly conducted studies . I went one more night with my son on the medication cause doctors are supposed to know what is good for us . The same thing happened to my son except worse and his whole body started shaking again uncontrollably . I called the next morning and told my sons allergist that I did not want my son on the Advair any more . After about another 30 to 40 minutes of arguing that this medication was not safe with my sons allergist he finally decided to change my sons medication . The next morning I did not give my son his Advair cause I was switching him over to Asmanex Twisthaler which I had read and researched was safer than advair. That morning my son without the advair was as though he was going through drug withdrawals. He was extremely angry for no reason at all. was very irritable and he was shakey all over and very nervous and restless. I knew it was cause he was without the advair and I knew that I had made the right choice then to switch him to Asmanex. I gave my son a one puff dose of the Asmanex Twishaler that evening and I can tell you he had no side effects what so ever and he slept through the night for the first time since he ws diagnosed with asthma almost five months ago. He only take his albuterol when he needs it which has been very little and with the asmanex his heart rate has stayed normal and he is his normal calm self. The night before I had called the doctor I had stayed up all night till 4 :30 am researching on the internet to try and find some natural solutions to asthma for my son in addition to the asmanex and I came across this site where you can take an all natural herbal supplement for the asthma symptoms. The website is : http://www.respitrol.biz/ . Maybe you have heard of it or maybe you have tried it but as a mom of six kids who is always wanting the best for my kids health I had to do the research myself instead of waiting for the doctors to do it for me and sometimes we must remember that only about 13 percent of doctors graduate having taken any classes in nutrition . That is a whopping 87 % of doctors who are constantly depending on prescribing medications for peoples symptoms instead of telling us what to eat and what not to eat to alleviate symptoms including asthma. Lastly I will share with you a website where you can search for recipes for asthma to help you breathe better and also learn what foods to eat and what to avoid when it comes to asthma. www.pccnaturals.com . I hope my information has helped and please remember just cause a doctor says a medication is safe do the research yourself and try to read all you can to stay one step ahead and be informed as to what is contained in medications you are taking. I do not know much about the Spiriva but please get a medication guide from your local pharmacist for it to read all the information for yourself about its safety . I would welcome you to email me if you wish even if its just for a shoulder to lean upon as we all have days that are overwhelming and just need someone to talk to . I will try and look up spiriva and see what is said about it . email is : stingrayvipevette7@yahoo.com . Sometimes when my son gets really congested I put him in the shower bathroom to breathe in the hot steam from the shower as it seems to get rid of his congestion and try to please go to an asthma specialist if you have not already and have a skin allergy test done and have the doctor print out what you are allergic to especially foods as this may help alleviate asthma symptoms too. Hope I have been of help . My son is doing well on the asmanex twisthaler and he has mild to severe asthma . His asthma has not been acting up at all and is breathing seems to be fine and during the days he is not out of breath at all.
The other website on my last reply to you containing all natural foods to eat for asthma should read www.pccnaturalmarkets.com . Sorry for that . Hope this website is helpful .
