I had the same body aches. Back pain, sore legs, feeling like I'm 80 years old when I got out of bed in the mornings. Pain in knees, ankles, neck, wrists. Skeletomuscular pain is one of the Mirena side effects. I have had physiotherapy and went to a medical training gym. All to find out later that it was Mirena all along.... . Indeed, you don't need this. But it's definitely the coil from what I'm hearing. I'm three months post removal and the joint and muscle pain is gone. Only right before my period I have a few days of being sore, but that's all. Take care.
Yes... I sure do. Every time I do any sort of heavy exercise such as cross country skiing, tennis, workouts, I bleed more afterwards. I also bleed after sex most times too. I thought all these symptoms were because I am 49 and approaching menopause, but I think the Mirena is causing them.
I have everything you have. In fact the first time I bled during a workout I got quite a shock because it came out with such force.Had the thing fitted 7 weeks ago and have severe hip pain for which I accessed urgent medical attention and the Dr agreed it was from the coil but persuaded me to give it time to settle. I am constantly nauseous, bleed during workouts and after sex, and have more recently become depressed and angry at the same time. I have had a severe throat infection but the Dr on examining me found my abdomen tender and gave me broad spectum antibiotics - I suspect the coil is causing infections. I have dreadful nightsweats, and though menopausal have not had nightsweats up until after the device was fitted.
I had the device fitted due to heavy periods due to HRT. Had absolutely no other problems with HRT except the heavy bleeding. I was told that I was now on the "gold standard" HRT with the coil and single oestrogen. Now I can hear you say "how do you know its not the oestogen causing the problems" - well its exactly the same table as the combined HRT so that is a tried and tested constant, the only new thing is the mirena coil.
I have acne at 54 that I haven't had since I was 17 and surprisingly though I hadn't associated it with the coil but hives has been mentioned by another person. Last week, first time in my life, my whole back broke out in hives. My hair looks unkempt, I'm headachy and generally miserable. All these things have happened in the last 7 weeks - is it coincidence? I have decided that is not a coincidence and I am having the cail removed next week
