I had very similar side effects as you from taking Cipro and later Levaquin. After several months off the medication, I am finally back to normal and the pain has gone away. I hope you have the same good luck in getting the medication out of your system and the pain goes away. Try to avoid stretching your tendons. They can rupture if you are not careful and require major surgery. If you have time, check out the posting on the drug, Levaquin, which is in the same family of antibiotics as Cipro. You will find many posting about the side effects of these medications. Good luck.
I took Cipro for 3 days (500mg) for a UTI also, and I had a severe allergic reaction through my skin. It's been several weeks (and several Dr. visits plus a biopsy to finally diagnose the problem), and the rash has receded significantly, but not completely, and I still have significant itching. My dermatologist said it could take several weeks and asked to see me again in 4 weeks. It has been 5 weeks since I took the drug. I am searching for similar information, hoping to find someone who has had a similar reaction and can tell me how long it lasted. I am heartened that the worst seems to have passed, but concerned at how long it is lingering. I had terrible eruptions over large parts of my body. If you find more information on duration of symptoms, please post it. Our reactions are quite different, but it may give me some idea of how long the drug stays in one's system. Thank you.

I can tell you what is going on for pretty much everyone on here... when you take antibiotics of any sort, you are inviting candida albicans to settle in your body..sugar just feeds it even more... you need to go to the webstite ~ candidafree.net and read what all happens when you have candida overgrowth... you then need to get on threelac.. it is a probiotic, and after suffering for years with all of these horrible things.... i am now getting better... no doctor will tell you this... just herbalists... it is true, you can get better!! you can also order some candida clear vitamins by NOW.. just type it in your search bar... I can relate to you and everyone else on here... yall all need to get on probiotics!! they do work!! i thought i had muscular dystrophy... fibromyalgia ( which is no such thing... just candida)... trust me,,, it is not that expensive either.. .try it ~ threelac and candida clear! best of luck to yoU!
Don't believe everything you read. I'm happy for the person who has taken probiotics and it worked for them. I've taken them too, but it did not produce the results that person saw. All the probiotics will do is repopulate your gut with good bacteria. That solves your guts problem. What about your muscles, your blood, your ligaments and joints? Ignoring the other problems doesn't help them on a permanent basis. Cipro is poison, pure and simple. It leaches into every part of your body and will make itself at home if you don't combat it at all levels. All I can say is what worked for me, you can see my progress day by day and make your own decisions at floxintoxin.com.
