I'm taking Avelox for the same reason. On the third night that I took it, I thought I was going to pass out, I was light headed and dizzy. I had to run to the sink and wet my hands and face. I took it again last night with much hesitation and was nauseous, but didn't feel faint. In the morning my throat was so dry it went numb.
The fifth night, which is tonight, I feel like pukeing all over the place.
Why am I still taking it? The Dr. told me that if I don't, whatever I have will go to my chest and I'd be sorry. When I called to get a different prescription the Dr. told me to take it closer to bed with food.
I am taking 400mg and a double dose (10 day supply). I'm barely 5foot tall and am 105 lbs. Wonder if I'm too light for that dosage.
I was prescribed this drug for the first time for a sinus infection. I was to take 400 mg 1x per day for 10 days along with a dose pack. After 5 days on avelox I quit it and the dose pack. My stomach was/is hurting so bad and I can tell it has affected my liver as well. I have pain in my side where your liver is located. When I try to eat something I feel very sick. It also made me dizzy and I felt like I was in a fog. Since I have reflux and stomach problems I'm sure this drug has made it worse. I even told the doctor about my tummy issues but he said it was tolerated very well. I have a friend who took it with no problems. I will NEVER take this drug again.
