I have been prescibed Lisinopril by my GP since last May,previously I was taking Atenalol,in the last two months I have developed a dry cough, problems with swallowing my tongue feels swollen at the back of my mouth, problems sleeping and what feels like palpatations,I have an appointment with the GP on Tuesday,I will be insisting that I come off this drug.It seems that because this is a cheaper drugs for blood pressure the GP's are keen to use it.

In 2006 my GP also changed my medication from Atenolol to Lisinopril. I had dreadful side effects, and made him change it back to Atenolol, and I have been fine since. Tell your GP it is YOUR body, and you do not have to follow his advice - I was very very ill on Lisinopril, in fact I thought I was going to die, it was so bad.
