Recently took a twenty day run of 500 mg Levaquin for a cellulitis infection that popped up after a knee surgery. It seems that unlike most people I tolerate the drug pretty well. The only side effect I have noticed is a little muscle stiffness when I wake up which is quickly remedied through light stretching and a warm shower. After being put on this medication I looked up it's side effects and was frightened by how many people have had terrible and debilitating side effects. Next time I'll trust my doctor and not look them up. I think any lost sleep and nervousness can be attributed to worrying about side effects that never came up.

Always look up the drug you are about to take. It's amazing how little drs know about the drugs they give out like candy. This class of drugs can attack you long after taking them. Where ever you have pain, please don't over do it. If you read the literature from the mfg. you will see that a torn tendon can happen quickly and long after taking the drug. There werre much more safe drugs for you to take/

Yeah, you can go ahead and trust your doctor..... just like I did. After my bicep ruptured for no apparent reason, I don't think I trust him anymore. By the way, the rupture (and tremendous tendon problems that continue till this day) did not begin till 6 months AFTER finishing the prescription. And yes, the new doctors do attribute the problem to the medication.

I no longer trust a doctor nor anyone else when it comes to ingesting chemicals.

My Primary care doctor warned me that I might feel disorientation, muscle aches, and joint pain. Also told me to discontinue the medication and go to an emergency room if I experienced heart palpitations or sharp pains in my lower legs. He also offered a hospital stay and IV antibiotics as an alternative.

I do not know what kind of quacks you visit, but my doctor is very open and honest. In six years he has never given me any reason not to trust him. If you are unhappy with your doctor, find a new one.

IF YOUR DR IS SO OPEN AND HONEST, WHY WOULD HE GIVE YOU SOMETHING THAT HAS CAUSED DEATHS AND DESTRUCTION OF HUMAN BODIES INSTEAD OF A SAFER DRUG. I'LL TELL YOU WHY: HE GETS SOME GREAT KICK-BACKS FOR PRESCRIBING THIS POISON. YOU TOOK A TERRIBLE CHANCE BY TAKING THIS AND HE WAS CARELESS IN HIS CHOICE OF MEDICINE FOR YOU. I CAN TELL YOU THIS ALSO, HE WOULD NEVER TAKE IT NOR GIVE IT TO HIS FAMILY. I PRAY THAT NOTHING HAPPENS TO YOU BUT BE CAREFUL IN ANY EXCERSISE YOU CHOOSE. IT CAN HAPPEN VERY QUICKLY.

Also, if you choose to defend this poison I believe you must work for one of the poison makers and have no place on this forum. this forum is for "side effects". if you have none then what are you doing here???????

Glad to see other intelligent replies. This person either works for the medical profession, drug manufacturers, or is related to someone who does. To defend something this dangerous in such a manner is nothing more than a weakly veiled attempt at promotion of a toxic substance for some type of personal gain. The truth about this stuff is scary but PLEASE stay away from it if at all possible.

Starting to think of this place as a tinfoil hat zone. I appologize for the fact that this medication did not make my legs fall off. I posted my side effect, got trolled, and now everyone here thinks I work for the company producing this antibiotic. I wish, It probably pays more than the 60,000 the government pays me. Oh no I said government, means they must be in on it! In the great words of Porky Pig "That's all folks!".
