Lisinopril helps millions of people with their blood pressure. Just because a medication is not right for YOU does not mean it should be withdrawn. So far, every side effect I've read on here is clearly stated on the Warnings and Side Effects section included with the prescription. I am not in any way minimizing or mocking the side effects all of you have stated. I had a few myself. It's very upsetting and scary, but again...the vast majority of users do not experience these side effects for long. Lisinopril has worked for me...my dizziness, cough, breathlessness and chest heaviness disappeared after a week or so. I am not in the pharmaceutical industry (as I'm sure many of you suspect!) and I'm a Nervous Nelly when it comes to taking medication. I was especially worried about this one, but luckily I have had no problems. I hope all of you find the right HBP med that works for you.

You are very fortunate, but you are also the exception. I'm sorry to disagree with you, but all these side effects I have experienced were NOT on my list of side effects that came with the Lisinopril, and the ones that were on it were serously downplayed............for example: "About 20% of the patients who take Lisinopril may experience a SLIGHT cough" Did they say SLIGHT? and 20% of the patients? Seems more like 50-75%! and no where in my papers did it mention that I might get the flu from taking it!

I am glad Linsinopril helps you - it helped me, too. The problem comes when you develop other problems and don't know why they started. It is so easy to attribute things to aging or something else. Beware - those symtoms that went away can come back. My doctor always pushes diet and exercise before medicines, but people being the way they are look for a pill to fix what they won't use their own will to fix. It has taken escalating side effects for me to finally try my doctors first suggestion. The pills are gone for now - I hope to keep it that way! Good luck to you!

I am glad for you Lucy1988 that you are showing none of the symptoms discussed here - but - I have had most of the symptoms as related and am right now looking for a new quack who will listen to my concerns
(does such a being exist?)
So I have to doubt your assertion that "millions" of people are doing well on lisinopril - is this founded on clinical evidence or simply your own experiences?
I personally believe that just the hundreds of postings on this site justify long hard look being taken at lisinopril - meanwhile I would like to see it withdrawn until there is an accurate and verified analysis of its benefits vs side effects etc.
We have to trust that these "health professionals" will take the right decisions for us - but Im not convinced that is the case at all.
