I can identify with the great sense of futility. When I was taking the drug, I was absolutely sure I was dying and just waiting for it to happen. It went way beyond a "panic attack" and I would say it was shear terror. I have never experienced anything like it ever before, and hope I never do again. I was unable to eat, had difficulty speaking, slept 20 out of 24 hours, and could not function. It took 2 trips to the ER before they stopped the meds and some of the issues resolved immediately. Some problems continue to this day.
Try reading some of this: http://www.fqresearch.org/ or even the book entitled "Bitter Pills" by Steven Fried. Good luck with your recovery and stay away from this rat poison.
I'm really interested in the possible side effect of coughing. SInce taking Levaquin and now Macrodantin for chronic UTIs, I've had severe, persistent coughing. No asthma medication has helped. The cough has greatly affected my quality of life. I just learned that Macrodantin has this as a possible side effect, but not the Levaquin, so I was interested to read your message.
