Has anyone experienced hypersomnia with Topamax? My son just started taking it a couple of weeks ago and now I can't wake him up in the mornings. Not just tired... but literally unwakeable. Then he has sleep drunkenness once he eventually wakes up in the middle of the morning. I have taken him off it to see what happens.

I have experienced an increased inability to wake up in the mornings. I often don't even hear my alarm clock anymore. This is extremely unusual for me. I normally get up at five in the morning. Now, I have noticed that even with my alarm clock going off and my husbands going off I wno't hear either of them until five thirty or five forty five. You can imagine how this works when I end up running late for work on a daily basis.

My girlfriend has been treated for sleep apnea with CPAP machine for a while. Now she has migraines. Thinks these started due to starting Provigil about 5 months ago to bring wakefulness. (Headaches are known side effecxt of Provigil. T

opomax (started 2 1/2 weeks ago) is already causing lots of weird dreams (not nighmares yet) and she sleeps just as much or more. has gone from somewhat light sensitive to pain & has mask for some day wear. T

Very recently she was scanned and they found small intracranial aneurysm. going back for CTIscan with tracer liquid if verified she will need either craniotomy or arthoscopic surgery- 4 years ago each were nearly $40,000,
This aneurisym may be causing some of light and migraine pain
but clearly the migraines had already kicked in.
I'm searching this and other sites for side effects, positive outcomes, and advice. Thank you for All help.
