I'm 6 weeks post-removal....the fog lifted within the first day and the bloating started to diminish shortly thereafter. The moodiness has taken longer....not quite there, I don't think, but I'm still waiting for my first cycle...hoping that normalizes things. Headaches much better and libido returning. The crushing fatigue has also left....now my tired is just the normal "tired" if that makes sense...it feels different than the Mirena fatigue....just feels like I need to get some sleep! Good luck to you....I'm hoping that we all do better without this thing.
It may take up to six months... most side effects were gone within weeks, and some only returned right before my period, and disappeared gradually after the period. It's getting better by the month and I'm four months post now.
UPDATE:
I had 3 weeks of post Mirena bleeding. I am not sure if my cycle coincided with them removing it, but I was in pain for about a week (cramps) and I passed huge blood clots for a long time. I was so glad to see it all gone. It's been almost a month since the bleeding stopped and I have not had a period yet so I am waiting to see what happens next.
The weight is coming off slowly. I do have more energy so I am in the gym more now than I was before. I am not one to starve myself, so I eat what I want, when I want, in moderation. I don't have any breast tenderness, but I still have back pain. I am no longer bloated or gassy, my libido has returned in full force but I am still moody and snappy at times so I try to be extra cognizant of my words and actions. Of course I have those "I don't care, it's an anything goes day" but who doesn't?
