I originally posted on 3/16/08. I visited the Dr. on Monday about problems with 40 mg Lisinopril such as shortness of breath, slight dizziness, fatigue. He said that I "need" to be on this medicine and that if I feel that the 40 mg is too much, to cut them in half and see how I do and come back in 30 days. I really feel like he is an honest and caring Dr. so I;m going to follow his advice and see how it goes. Any thoughts?

My opinion is there are alot safer drugs than lisinopril. Why my Dr. insisted I Take it is beyond me. I had a bad cough, fatigue and lightheadedness to name a few, and my Dr. insisted I stay on it plus increase the dosage to 30mg. A couple days later my heart was racing & felt like it was pounding out of my chest. I imediately stopped lisinopril and went back to my old med. (ziac) My Doctors response was "OK whatever you want to do." I don't intend to see him again!
