My son was recently prescribed Singulair and I refuse to start him on anything that I don't research on the internet first. Thank god I did. I read everyone's symptoms on here and couldn't believe what I was reading. After discussing my research with his doctor, she of course tried to brush it off saying that the internet is not a place where I should be getting my information. That people make things up etc. We all have to understand that Doctors get paid to SELL the product to you ( the human lab rat). Please make sure to research any meds a.k.a. chemicals they want you to put into your body. Take care of your body, eat the right food and take your vitamins/supplements. I can't believe the news today..I'm sooo happy I did not put my son on this EVIL drug! Take care of yourselves and god bless you all.

This crap you're writing about doctors getting paid to sell medications is a huge myth. They get no kick back for prescribing particular medications. Singulair however has an amazing record for helping to control asthma in many very sick children and adults. The side effects, with every medication, have to be weighed against the benefits of the medication. If you have mild side effects like headache or stomach discomfort but this medications prevents you from having life threating asthma symptoms then continue to take it BUT if it causes you to feel depressed, suicidal, etc. then it's obvious that the benefits may not out weigh the risks. My son has taken singulair for several years - he's 11 now - it has helped his asthma more than anything else. He has no depression, sucidial ideation, anger issues, or the like. Not everyone will have the same reaction and people shouldn't go about generalizing that their symptoms may be the norm. Get educated about your medications from real sources, not blogs like this and take your doctors counseling seriously. If you can't trust the doctor you have now then find one you can.

I am so happy you researched this drug. I have two sons taking this medication off and on during allergy seasons for them. I have experienced side effects with both children. God bless you for checking this out and going with your GUT feeling and this made up nonsense. HA HA WAY to go. It is not made up with me and we have had an appointment for two weeks to discuss these concerns with my youngest son's doctor.
