I have had the same issues as you described. I'm four months post removal and doing a lot better! It may take up to six months to feel normal again.
I, too, had all the symptoms you mentioned and more. I only had mine in from Sept 07 through removal on Feb. 7, 08...and I can tell you that my anxiety symptoms and heart palpitations seem to be gone at this point....hope it stays that way. Vision is not quite straight yet and still having some issues sleeping (seems that I wake up hot, then get cold....back and forth). The dizziness and numbness was really scary. Fog was gone the first day of removal. Still haven't had my first cycle post-removal so I'm waiting to see how that goes. I only had 2 cycles while on the Mirena but spotted 3 weeks out of 4 every month. Only had two days of bleeding post-removal. Maybe I am not ovulating yet. Good luck to you.
I made my appointment to have my Mirena removed on Apr 10th. I can't wait. I don't have any problems with periods or spotting, in fact I've had none. That's the only good thing about this IUD, other than it appears to be effective in preventing pregnancy. I'll be sure to tell my doctor all the reasons why I'm having this removed - only five months after I spent $400 to get it. It was "a great option for me" and "there were virtually no side effects". I think there should be a little more information out there for women with this IUD.
