Why were you put on an asthma medication to "calm down"? That makes no sense whatsoever!
My daughter is 20 now, and she has taken Singulair for nearly 12 years without any side affects. 10 mg a day, and we THOUGHT it was a miracle drug. Until October 2006 when she had a psychotic episode and was hospitalized for two weeks. She was hallucinating and was not responding to anyone and when she did talk, it didnt make sense. We think it had something to do with her taking herbal supplements containing Hoodia in combination with her singulair. Hopefully with this latest news, more patients will report issues on the FDA site. Prior to Oct 2006, she had no issues for all those years. After her two week hospitalization she never took Hoodia supplements and has never had any problems at all. Make sure that you tell your physician if you are taking any other medications or herbal supplements with your singulair.
This registry is a place to share positive or negative side effects of using Singulair. If you directly experienced a side effect while using Singulair, then we encourage you to enter it here. Please note that entries here are the experiences of individual users, and in no way means that you or anyone else will experience the same side effect, since the same medication affects people in different ways. Please always contact your physician.
