I HAVE HAD MY MIRENA FOR ALMOST 1 YEAR AND WAS THE WORST THING I'VE EVER DONE. I PAID FOR IT AND I LIKE THE CONVENIENCE BUT MY FACE IS AN ABSOLUTE MESS ALL THE TIME!!!!!! I JUST BOUGHT PROACTIV AT AGE 35 AND I HAVE NEVER HAD AN ACNE PROBLEM IN MY LIFE. I HAVE GAINED 10 LBS AND I EAT HEALTHY AND WORKOUT 6 HOURS A WEEK AND CANNOT LOSE THE WEIGHT. I HOPE GETTING IT OUT IS NOT AS PAINFUL AS GETTING IT PUT IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi There

I can assure you it is not painful to get it out. I was suprised... as long as you relax, not much more than a pap smear........ I have had it out for a couple of days and feel heaps better.......

Don't fret at all about the removal process. My experience was that it was that I barely felt it. My Dr said "Are you sure you want it out?" which was a joke because he had already removed it! I felt one small twinge....a pap is more uncomfortable to me!! I, too, just bought Proactive (and I'm 43!) to try and help fix my face. The acne was noticeably reduced after just the first week post-removal, even before the Proactive, but I don't know how much this product actually impacts the hormonal acne from the Mirena. I have scars from those volcanos! I NEVER had skin issues prior to the Mirena. I just want it all cleared now. Good luck to you, if you decide to get it removed. I don't think you'll regret it.
