How long did it take your son to improve - have there been any lasting side effects?
We took him off it a month ago, and started seeing major improvements little by little. The only lasting side effects are the memory of how he was, the learned behavior during that time. The difference this time though is he knows when he's doing or saying something wrong, his eyes are clear and not zombified. My child was literally lost within himself while on Singulair. So now we're working with him on learning to not say "I hate myself". Those are the things he began saying while on the drug, so it became a learned behavior. That is the only thing we still see. He can focus now and does not have the violent outbursts he had while on the drug. I think the learned behavior is partially our fault. While he would have his outbursts I would hold him (had to so he wouldn't hurt himself) and try to calm him down, so it became an attention getter. Now we're working on showing him other ways if he needs attention.
Do you have an experience with Singulair?
It has been 6 days since taking my daughters off singuliar. My 8 yr. old had mood swings, dizziness, social anxieties and severe ichiness. My 7 yr.old had chronic stomach pain for 2-3 months, lots of anxieties.Medical tests showed nothing wrong. She was prescribed prevacid, but my sister confinced me to take them off the singulair instead. That was 2 days before the warnings were publiziced. Now I am certain the pain was associated with anxiety caused by the medication. For the past 2 months she had awoken every night with stomach pain. She has had 4 nights in a row without waking at all. This is a huge improvement. My other daughter is currently being tested for learning disabilities.I will be curious to see if her academics improve, her moods have already changed. She has been very happy these past few days.I thank God that this information has been revealed.Hopefully now we can all live more healthy, happy and restful lives.
