My son is taking Adderall xr and I've noticed an eye twitch. Has anybody else experienced this, on this medication? My Dr. says it probably isn't related. I had him off the med over the summer and it lessened the eye movement but it never went away, now that we are back on it, it seems to have gotten worse again? Looking for answers.

i am posting a reply (years later) to make sure anyone else that comes across this reads the effects of leaving their child on this med. my son was started on adderall xr when he was seven. had the same eye twitching. his doctor told me it WAS due to the adderall and if we did not switch him the twitching would become permanent. we switched to focalin and have had no problems since! he is now almost nine. my daughter is also on adderall xr, as well as myself, and have not had these problems. works wonders for us!

Adderall can aggrivate tics and things like that, it can cause tics if there's already a predisposition (if thats the correct word, I can't think of the right word) meaning you might not know you have touretts which isn't what some people thing it is, it can simply be a small twitching or continuos movement of a certain body part such as a leg or arm or soemthing, something people may not even give much thought about and adderall can agrivate it and make it worse.
