I have read what everyone has said about the side of effects of Singulair. I really thought it was safe as for I researched the side effects and the clinical pharmacology. I also really trust our pulmonologist. My daughter started taking singulair at the age of 3 due to asthma induced pneumonia. She will soon be 4. She also has had terrible nightmares, which I dismissed as night terrors. She also complains at times it hurts to walk and her legs are tired. I thought she was over reacting and just wanted me to carry her....maybe not! I have decided to take her off the medicine today. I don't want to take the chance of her having any type of emotional side effects. It is not worth it for "mild" asthma which hasn't been confirmed, just assumed due to her age.

Isn't it interesting how many kids with allergy symptoms are put on singuliar? You have made the right choice by stopping the medicine. My girls 7 & 8,have been off it a little over a week. They are becoming happy healthy kids again.Thank God.Good luck to you. Please let us know if your child improves.Good Luck.

i have taken singulair since i was 15 i am now 23. i think what the problem is that your children are too young to be taking singulair even though it is said this medication can be taken at the age of 12 months. all the side effects are in children under 10, are there any adults out there that feel singulair has any bad effects on them? i for one have had no problems with singulair and would recomend its use to any one who has sever asthma or allergies as i do.

clmorales -
Yes there are plenty of adults who have posted to this board and who have emailed me privately with the same side effects as those of the younger children. Take the time to read more postings. Adult men, severe depression, thoughts of suicide etc etc. It's just terrible. But it's great it works for you. Just take note of how you feel on a daily basis, and compare it to how you were before you started taking it. It does work for asthma, it worked for my 5 year old son, I just didn't want him to want to kill himself anymore. He's off now and doing perfectly fine.
