I am also 24 with 2 daughters and had Mirena inserted 3-24. I am like many people and do not like the side effects but I'm going to give it a good shot. I have been spotting ever since it was inserted and been very restless and depressed. I've heard it takes some time for the body to adjust so if in 4 months I still feel like this it is coming out.

I got my mirena put in last thursday April third 2008. I had just started my period that morning and havent bled since. Alot of pain and cramps when they insterted it even got dizzy and faint, got sick too while still at doctors office. Pain went away that night some discomfort the next day, but ok to handle. Havent' had the discharge or bleeding or pain, but scared to have sex. I felt for the string and was able to feel it but since it was easy for me to reach for it made me even more scared to have sex. My husband is large in that area and hurts me every time we have sex I assume something else in there will make it hurt more.

I haven't had any problems with mirena. I am 24 and had one put in about 8-12 weeks after my first son was born in May 2007. I spotted very lightly for the first few months and then my period went away all together. Recently I have had a bit more spotting, but it usually only lasts for a few days and then goes away. The only complaint I do have is from the strings that dangle down I find i have an almost metallic odor. But I have definitely not had any of the extreme side effects that any one else has been complaining about. I was actually shocked when i saw this site and how many people have had so many problems.
