I was on Lisinopril for a while until the dry hacking cough drove me crazy. It got so bad I had trouble driving. I would start coughing severely and could not stop. Had trouble with bladder control due to coughing. Went to my Urologyst, he mentioned coughing and Lisinopril. I looked it up online and immediately stopped taking it. Cough stopped in about 2 weeks. Husband has been on it for about 6 yrs and 3 wks ago started having SEVERE muscle cramping on back. Drs. give him muscle relaxers and pain killers. One of his toes is twitching (mine used to do that too) and seems to be confused and forgetful. I just told him he's not taking it any more. Lisinopril is pure poison!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for this posting! For several weeks now, I have had muscle twitches and muscle cramps, seemingly out of the blue. This morning I realized that I switched to another provider for lisinopril (which i have been on for quite a while, but never been that happy with) and was so good to hear someone else with the muscle effects. I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow and hope to switch to something else. ALSO--did you hear about the Wall St. Journal article regarding generics/Wellbutrin. It mentions the generic for Toprol --i've just switched away from the generic because of a side effect, the one mentioned in the article! (It was covered on NPR yesterday, 4-26-08, so you can find it online.) The explanation of how generics are approved was illuminating--and explains a lot of why they may not be as effective. Again, thanks so much for posting!
