To all the ladies who replied in the last month - I'm so scared for you. Please be aware that any tingling, redness, rashes, trouble breathing (the asthma symptoms or shortness of breath) and itching are serious side effects that indicate an allergic reaction to the medication. Even if you haven't had an allergic reaction to the same medication before you can have one this time because your body can choose to react this time. Especially the breathing problems, body rashes, and the (gasp!!!) swollen lips (angioedema). It can lead to a total swelling of your face, lips, tongue, and throat and can close off your lungs so you can't breath. People actually die from this. Please take your side effects seriously and take some benedryl immediately as indicated on the back of the bottle, and then report your symptoms to your care provider immediately so they can start you on a new antibiotic from a different class that will not cause allergic reactions right away. Also if you are having these types of reactions do not take another dose, but do call the Dr. right away or your infection might come right back even stronger than before if you don't get another medication to treat the infection.
UTI's are no fun at all, but good luck. Some homeopathic tips for treating them include LOTS of water, cranberry juice or grapefruit juice, antacid tablets (don't take more than the safe dose on the back of the bottle), coffee (because it moves the urine), and ALWAYS pee after having sex - it washes the bacteria from the urethera before you go to sleep and it has time to reproduce and spread.
Good Luck
