I noticed a lot of postings about weight gain on Singulair. How old is your daughter now? My daughter (now 15) was 9 when she gained 20 lbs in 6 mo. along with the leg and stomach pains, and continued to gain more while being active. She's been off Singulair over a year now but cannot seem to lose weight no matter what. This has been a part-time job for me, and have ruled out any other thyroid, hereditary, etc. problems. It's a shame the quality of life of a child is ruined by drugs that she is obviously sensitive to, and the drs. out there take it very lightly (needless to say the sleepless nights of the parents worrying about the dangers of being over-weight). Of course Merck is not going to list possible weight gain as a side effect - who would buy it? I'd like to see an update on your daughter once she quits the Singulair. Best of luck - I feel for you!
