My son was on antibiotics for chronic sinusitis. He was on antibiotic more than he was off over the past year(literally almost every month). Had enlarged adenoids (due to chronic infections) removed in Feb. His sinuses finally started draining yesterday after being off the med apprx 9 days. I have been waiting for months for his sinus to drain.. Now that he is off the singulair they finally did. The sinus problems started about 2 years ago and he was on it for 3 1/2 years
My son was put on antibiotics twice for two month intervals in the last twelve months for severe sinus infections that he went to the ER for. He never had them before, and I couldn't figure out why he would get them while on singulair.
over the last 3 years my daughter has been on antibiotics for chronic sinusitis more than she has been off. As long as 20 days at a time because we couldn't get rid of the infection.
When I now catch a cold, it turns into a sinus infection, triggering asthma and I need sulfer drugs now instead of the regularly prescribed antibiotics to clear up the infection.
My son is two, and last november had pneumonia. Was diagnosed with asthma and put on meds. Got sick in november and put on singulair. Ever since january, he has had constant infections-ear,sinus,lymphnode,and respiratory. It's been unbelievable. Antibiotics don't seem to work. After reading these posts, I decided to take him off the singulair. I am very nervous about my decision, because his astma puts him in the hospital. I hope i am doing the right thing. I read sinus infections make treating asthma harder. Any input on asthma, pneumonia, and sinusitus or singulair please reply.
