I just took synthroid for the first time last night, and had some intensely weird nightmare dreams, which is why I am here, googling "synthroid" and "nightmares" - has anyone had this experience and had it subside? Please respond if that's the case, I certainly don't want my sleep to be like this every night.

I have had the weirdest dreams since I started taking syntroid. My sleep was always restful, not even nightmares. Now, every single night or even a cat nap, I have these bizarre dreams. Some of them are very disturbing. On top of it I'm still tired and don't feel any better from taking it. I'm seeing my doc about going off it and trying dietary changes to control it. I could handle once in a while but not every single time I sleep!

I've been on Synthroid for a week- 50 mcg. I seriously felt ok before the diagnosis, was a bit surprised when I was pulled in by my doctor and told I had hypothyroidism per my routine bloodwork results. Then when she rattled off symptoms, I could identify with most of them, but it wasn't anything I couldn't live with. Now that I'm on this stuff, my sleep is SO disturbed. My dreams are super vivid and although I forget what happened in them almost immediately after waking, I can't seem to shake the lingering fog of them. I felt ok besides for the first 5 days but yesterday and today I've been SUPER drained. I take 20mg of Adderall for my ADHD on days I work and this is completely negating the pick-up from that PLUS wiping me out completely. Now I remember why I don't trust modern medicine...
