It's not in your body anymore. It just goes in, does it's damage and then leaves. It's just that simple. I have been suffering for 3-1/2 yrs now. PLEASE send it a MedWatch report by going to www.fda.gov and hopefully it will be taken off the market if enough of us complain.
I took one 500 mg tablet last June and my ankles and feet still hurt so much I cannot walk at any pace but slow. My tibial tendon tore and took over 3 months of wearing a brace to heal although still hurts.
I don't know how long it stays in your body but I do know that it's one of the medications that can cause the form of lupus that's brought on thru drugs. Supposedly the lupus goes away once it has cycled thru your system. I only say this cause your symptoms sound like lupus (I have SLE).
Hi. Ten days ago I had "severe" strep throat and my doctor prescribed Levaquin (1 day @ 750mg, 4 days @ 500mg). I received Levaquin due to allergies with so many other antibiotics. The good news - my strep cleared up within 2 days - the bad news... my feet are swollen and are constantly going numb. I cannot explain it.. I've never had anything like this happen; I'm healthy; I exercise 3 times a week; in Sept I ran a 1/2 marathon; I eat well; drink plenty of water... etc. So I started browsing the internet... I'm not even sure Levaquin is the cause of my swelling.. but to those experiencing similar swelling... how long did it last?? Thanks.
