I am anticipating that once I get through looking for journal articles that there will be some kind of connection to the weight gain in Singulair and the one that many people experience on antidepressants. Probably a genetic component again because montelukast pathways involve genetic variants.
concernedcitizen! i never would have made the connection that way without reading your reply here, but of course you're probably right about the weight gain being linked to the havoc singulair wreaks on the brain. that opens a whole different can of worms! thanks for all your hard work on this!
My 7 yr.old had also gained weight. She is about 10 pds. over for her height. Her eating habits definitely changed while on singuliar. She became obsessive about food. She was anxious, and worried that there would not be enough if she wanted seconds. This was not the norm for her. There were other compulsive behaviors that I found odd.She is getting back to herself .And the food issue,as well as the other anxieties are going away. There is no doubt in my mind that the singuliar caused this behavior.
