My son is three and a half and has been taking singulair for a little over two years. But only when his seasonal asthma flares up or when I know it is that time of year that he has problems. While taking singulair he has always complained of headaches, stomach and leg pains, and of course it never occured to me that it could be a perscribed medication. However after hearing the affect it had on another little girl and that leading me to research it to find all of these postings from other parents. What really brought on the investigation is the last week. My sweet little boy turned into a monster. He kicked, hit, screamed, pinched, bit, scratched or anything he could do to physically hurt you. We were all freaked out by this because he is such a sweet, gentle little boy, one of his teachers made every excuse she could think of. Because this was not in his character at all, then of he did it to her. She described it as a switch going off inside him. I believe he was also hallucinating, he told me someone told him to do it. This is by far the most scary thing I have ever been through and will never give my son singulair again. Further more I am going to pass this information along to all my friends and family and hope and pray that it makes is to everyone so this madness this perscription medication causes.

Please, if you have time, file a report with the FDA. The more reports they get the better! Good luck!

That is exactly how my daughter was. It was like a switch went off and she would go into raging tantrums. Thank goodness after 13 days of being off her tantrums are gone. The last tantrum was 9 days ago and it was because she couldn't walk barefoot down the street to her friend's house. She is 10 years old mind you. Very out of character. She had been having mood swings but then out of the blue she started having these raging tantrums frequently. Every day she seems to be getting better. Hopefully no permanent damage has been done to any of our children. Have you filed an online complaint with the FDA?

My daughter is 3 and she has been taking Singulair for about 3 weeks now. She is a very sweet, loving little girl. My husband and I started noticing that she complained of stomach aches and leg aches. Then she started wetting her bed a couple times a week, and was refusing to go potty before she laid down. I thought that was really odd, she has never had any accidents before. Then she started acting violent toward me and my husband :hitting, kicking screaming, biting, pinching, breaking her toys, tearing her room apart! She is only 3 !!!! Today she tore her room apart, smashed her keyboard, and so I removed all the toys and dolls etc.. from her room. Then she got even worse, running through the house screaming and throwing her self on the floor and banging her head on the ground. I did not know what to do so I grabbed my camera and tried to video tape her behavior, I sat the camera on the dresser to record her as I was trying to comfort her and she attacked me, ran over to the camera and threw it against the wall! I was shocked. I called the pharmacist and he told me to discontinue the medication and that it can cause violent behavior in children. I am so angry for not knowing that this could happen to my beautiful little princess. I am truly outraged about all this, I am a bit relieved to have found these stories posted, so now I know that it is that medicine not her. THANK YOU!!!!!
