Ok I haven't been following along for several days so I may have missed some info. But what I'm wanting to know is if anyone out there has had the their child off singular for several months and had the attitude problem get worse rather than better. I don't know what is going on with my son but he has been off the meds for almost 7 months and within the last month turned very mean and ill-tempered. We would get this reaction sometimes while he was on the medicine but now it's 10X worse. Could be totally unrelated, but I thought I'd through it out there just to see.

Last sept I tried to take my son off singulair and tried allegra and zyrtec both had with extreme moodiness symptons with him. He also gets very moody when on nasonex. Thats why I am only using Claritin at this point.

My son is off singulair just six days and for the past six nights he is worse than before. It is 5.30 am here - we are awake for an hour - him - wide awake. He doesnt sleep well as a rule but this week has been awful. In nursery he is going non-stop. He is 2 years old and about a week ago I thought he was getting more aggressive and a bit more hyper, I asked his nursery and they agreed he was louder and more physical. This has probably been a gradual process but I really saw it in the past two weeks. I hope he gets better soon - I know it has to be the singulair withdrawl. He just doesnt need sleep, he cant sit still, it is hard to get him to listen to you and these have all gotten steadily worse since he started meds. six months ago. I hope your child improves soon, we will just have to hang in there.

I have had my son off about two weeks as well. He is five and has been on it for about two years. After about 2 days off, he was much better, fewer tantrums, sleeping better, overall seemed happier...and then it got worse, some days even worse than on singulair. I am assuming it is withdrawls, but if anyone else has seen this after taking children off singulair, please let me know. I cannot ask any doctors, because all the ones I have talked to say that singulair is not a cause of any of these problems to begin with. Best wishes to you.

Yes I definately noticed some ups and downs last week, first couple of days off he did great actually had first 2 positive days in school the entire school year, then allergy symptons hit and he was not feeling the greatest. Last fri was the worst day in school in last 2 weeks,, now over the weekend he seems to be getting better again.. Fri into Sat he was doing some of the tantrums he used too but it no way lasted as long.. Last night he slept good and today seems to great again. Definately seems to be withdrawal side effects...
