I have taken, for the first time in my life for poison oak, prednisone- 60 mg for 3 days, 30 mg for 1 day, and 20 for 1 day. A week after the dose ended, I took another dose of it. As soon as that was over, the symptoms began with extreme low energy and dizziness, and eyes not feeling to well. I have been like this for a week, and would like to know how long this will last? And what can I do to speed up the process?

Hi, As you haven't taken corticosteroids for a long time, they probably didn't cause serious side effects. It takes anywhere between a few days to up to two years (in extreme cases with high dosage and long-term use) to return to normal. There're numerous supplements that can help you to recover:

1. Take a high-quality, professional-strength multivitamin/mineral complex. "Ultra Preventive X" from the Douglas Laboratories is among the best ones in the professional supplements' market.

2. Liquid "Cod Liver Oil" -- 1 teaspoon per 50lb of body weight.

3. Powdered L-Glutamine -- take 10g/day for a couple of months to prevent steroid-induced muscle wasting. This amino acid is also good for the health of the GI tract.

Be well, and if at all possible, try to stay away from exogenous corticosteroids.
