SO HAPPY to have found this forum. I had been having ALL of the symptoms already mentioned here, except that I actually lost weight(maybe from the stress the damned little demon was putting me through). Anyway I had been searching various health sites about all this stuff, and just on a whim decided to google mirena side effects because I did not remember there being very much listed in the brochure or much mentioned by my obgyn, but because I was so foggy headed all the time, thought I may have forgotten something....well as you all know, none of this was brought to our attention prior to insertion and I actually googled Mirena b4 having it put in, and never found any info like this. That was in May 07...so I got mine out April 9th, 08 started my period 4 days later, and still fluctuating between heavy down pours and spotting after 6 days. ?'s for anyone who had theres out....how long b4 you saw improvements on problems....especially acne, moodiness and my worst thing has been excruciating joint and back pain every day....but I want to know about any of the symptoms and how long b4 they got better. Hang in there girls and give yourselves a big pat on the back for dealing with this mess and having the courage to make your voices heard. Thank-you for listening.

hi. i was just looking for mirena side effects and i read your post. I have been doctored for joint and back pain. i feel tired all the time. i feel like i hurt so bad i cant get out of bed sometimes. i have rashes all the time. i am 38 and had it put in 18 months ago. i also have absolutely no energy. i have had all kinds of blood tests run that have been normal....so now that im reading up on this...im starting to wonder if its the marina. I too have really horrible moods and decreased libido.

Thanks for sharing both of you :)

KPatton: I think how fast you rebound is variable and different for each of us. I've generally read that women are feeling better almost immediately and I hope that will be true for me later this week when mine is removed.

dwaugh: Definitely do some more reading and think about all the things you have felt over your 18 months and if they fit with the side effects of mirena. I never would have thought all the things I had been going through had anything to do with it until I stumbled on this site and saw what other women were saying. Then a light went on in my head and I thought that I'm getting this little sucker out. Worst thing that happens is I'm wrong and it's not the IUD causing my problems. Best thing, I feel 1800% better. For a minute I thought I was reading my own post because I too am 38, put in about 2 years ago, and have all the things going on that you wrote, including the normal blood tests.

Good luck to you both!
