I think you bring up the main point for all of us. Our doctors did not tell us about these side effects and professionals did not make the connection. Just like the tobacco companies, Merck is lying to everyone and covering up these side effects. They have already been sued and paid 4.5 bil to Vioxx patients because they fraudulently covered up the fact that it can cause heart attacks. How many more people have to suffer before they tell the truth?

Doctors aren't always the first ones finding out about new information related to medications because their primary job is diagnosis. Myself being a last year pharmacy student, I found out about the possible link as soon as it was published and made sure to inform all patients at the pharmacy where I currently work. I also inform patients just starting singulair to call me immediatly if they notice mood changes or any other side-effects when they start the drug...but that's something I do for every drug.

Your pharmacists are the drug experts, if your current pharmacist is not up to date on current medical issues...please, drop the chains already and find a reliable independent pharmacy.

I see you said your child had bone and joint pain. My step-son has been on Singulair since August and I've noticed that everynow and then he says his legs hurt, not his knees, just his legs. How often did your child have this symptom? This was the first I've see about the pain and it really grabbed my attention, so thanks alot. I am definitly going to research this more.

Obviously, Merck wouldn't agree with anybody that didn't say that Singulair was wonderful and promoted Singulair for as many different uses as possible. Just look at the clinical trials. Singulair to prevent heart disease is listed. How about Singulair for ingrown toe nail? That's inflammatory right?
