I usually have allergy headaches in the morning which would go away after taking 1 Benadryl w/ Tylenol. About a week ago my doctor started me on Singulair because she was concerned about me taking Tylenol daily. The last few days I've had terrible headaches that linger most of the day. (I've continued to take the Benadryl w/ Tylenol to try to help the headaches, but it's just not working.) Today is day 7 with the Singulair, and the headaches seem to be getting worse. Are headaches common with Singulair?

The incidence of headache is 18% for those who take Singulair. I have posted my source of reference in past posts. There are many sources of that one. Singulair is a leukotriene receptor antagonist with many side effects.

Your doctor is changing you from an anti-histamine and tylenol to a totally different category. AND WHY?

Okay, all you have is a morning allergy headache. The most common cause of morning allergy headache is dust mites. Get dust mite pillow covers, mattress covers, and dust mite rug cleaners. There are many anti-histamines. If you show no signs of needing a leukotriene antagonist, why go there?

Please Please go and read the other posts on here. I tried counting the side effects on the mayo clinic's webpage and not including all of them there are over 70 side effects!!! Who in the world would risk it. My son had tons of them, too bad we didn't know what the culprit was until after we put him through so much!!! He had headaches DAILY and he doesn't have allergies. He has not been on singulair in 8 days and he has not complained of one headache ( by the way he has no idea why he doesn't take singulair anymore, he simply thinks he just doesn't need it). Infact all of his side effects have gone away and trust me he had quite a few!! Please be careful when you take this medicine, it has ruined so many lives, just ask Kate!!!! Good luck and take care!

My son has had headaches on singulair where he has had to take motrin or tylenol 5x minimum per week. He went off the singulair 4 weeks ago and has taken tylenol only 2x in that whole period, and that was when he had a cold. It sounds like the singulair is definately worsening you headaches.

You should not be taking singular... The long term side effects are horrible. Please take the time to go on this website and you will probably understand why you are having your headaches linger on all day.... Here is the website. www.askapatient.com/viewrating.asp?drug=20829&name=SINGULAR you have to typ all of that to get to the right website..

Thank you all VERY, VERY much! I wondered the same thing...is taking 325 mg of tylenol so bad? I actually did not take the Singular last night. Guess what? mild headache. {{I also think I work in 40 year old sick building.}} I'm not one to take a lot of meds, but it seems like my doctor is always pushing something else. She wanted me to come off of the Benadryl w/ Tylenol, switch to Singular 10 mg, Zyrtec, & Flonase. Think I'll just stick with the Benadryl & saline nasal rinse. Just wondering...does anyone know if pharm companies track what doctors prescribe? Thanks again for all of your help!

Just wanted to correct my post above. My son's headaches got worse the first 4 or 5 days after stopping singulair, but the last 3 weeks he's only had two mild ones. Just wanted to get it staight.
