I posted back in early March 2008 and figured I would update my experience with Mirena. I had many symptoms that most posted on here but not all. I figured I would give this option a few months and if the symptoms continued, I would have it removed. After a month, all symptoms have disappeared. Periods are lighter, no pain during intercourse and I can breathe a sigh of relief. No longer do I have to worry about pregnancy ( I always used natural planning going by my body cycle). I did have slight weight gain but started exercising more to offset the extra calories I was taking in with the sudden cravings for food. All and all, I am glad I stuck with it and let my body adjust to Mirena. Good luck to all of you.

I got the Mirena back in early March 2008, with the hopes of having a lighter cycle each month after 30yrs of being a heavy bleeder. I must say that I started losing my hair in the front along with acne breakouts. I am moodier than before and suffer from breast tenderness. It is now going into June and I did not see a period this month, the other signs are still there but I will give it a few more months and see if my body will began to adjust to this change. I am now 40yrs old with 2 kids one going on 16 and the other going on 7, I want to enjoy my life without the thought of babies. My husband would be upset if he knew that I was back on birthcontrol since he is trying exstremely hard for us to have another one. I will keep you all posted in a couple of months as to what is going on.
