Hi all. I'm posting again after being off Advair for about a week. I've noticed a dramatic change in my emotional health. The anxiety that I've been suffering from for the last three months while on Advair has now entirely vanished. I feel like my old self again, and friends and family have also noted the difference. I won't ever take this medication again-- I'd rather deal with my asthma in a preventive way.

I'm glad to hear that! I too went off advair about 3 weeks ago after experiencing a lot of the same things. It was actually through this site and after a wake up call that I decided to stop taking it. My mood has improved as well as everything else, from the anxiety to racing heart and tingling fingers and toes, not to mention I have actually been sleeping! I am now taking supplements to help prevent my asthma, the book Reversing Asthma has helped me greatly. I take 500 mg of magnesium and 500 mcg of B12 a day, and every other day 1000mg of Vitamin C. It has really helped me a lot, and I feel almost 100% better! Don't listen to all these people who are like bleh, advair is fine, the doctors know best. No the doctors don't know best, otherwise one of mine would have recognized it.

Here's my plan for prevention:

I take claritin everyday, since my asthma is allergy-related.

I shower 2x per day, to get allergens out of my hair and off my body.

I clean my house more frequently and change sheets and pillowcases more frequently.

I keep an air purifier/AC on.

I'm avoiding anything that would induce an asthma attack-- the homes of friends who have pets, moldy libraries and work spaces, etc.

So far, this mode of hyper-vigilance has worked, and I have not had to use my rescue inhaler yet. (It has now been a few weeks.)
